ELBERTON - A judge has denied bond for two Elberton hairdressers accused of stealing gold and jewelry from clients as the list of charges against them continues to grow.

35-year-old Nikki Coker faces 29 counts of burglary and 26-year-old Whitney Hope Mooney faces 28 counts of burglary and two drug violations.

Northern Circuit District Attorney Bob Lavender says more charges are likely as investigators uncover more victims. He says he's considering a special session of the Elbert County grand jury to hear the case.

The Elbert County Sheriff's Office says the victims include relatives, friends and salon customers of the women.

Investigators found pawn shops in Athens, Crawford and Anderson, S.C., where the women sold the jewelry and coins.
