Baseball: Lorentz ties school record, leads GHS past West Hall

GAINESVILLE -- Will Maddox showed off Gainesville's power but it was the Red Elephants' speed that proved deadly Friday night against West Hall.

Maddox had a home run and two RBI and Gainesville swiped 13 bases en route to a 11-1 win in five innings over the Spartans in Region 8-AAA baseball action at Ivey-Watson Field.

Michael Lorentz did most of the base running damage for Gainesville (5-1, 3-1 in region) tying a school-record with six stolen bases in the game.

Hunter Anglin got the win fanning three in a complete-game effort.

Skyler Weber had two hits for the Elephants, who will travel to Franklin County Monday in another 8-AAA battle.
