WINDER - A state agency is scheduled to vote on whether to sanction a Barrow County employee who helped design a turn lane at one of the county's most dangerous intersection.

The Georgia Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors is set to consider the case of Darrell Greeson, who oversees the county's engineering department.

Greeson, who is not an engineer, was told in January he was being investigating for performing engineering work without a license when he helped design a turn lane outside the new Barrow County Courthouse. He could be fined $500.

County officials say Greeson designed the turn lane with help from regional engineers with the state Department of Transportation.
