Golf: Lady Elephants top White County

CLEVELAND -- Gainesville held off host White County Monday in a nine-hole match at Mossy Creek Golf Course.

Paced by a 41 from Meg Callahan, Gainesville edged the Lady Warriors 83-92.

LeeAnn Noble fired a 42 for the Lady Elephants.

Kathryn Whitaker shot a 45 and Brittan Slaton fired a 47 for White County's top two scorers.

White County will be back in action Tuesday at Cateechee Golf Course against Hart County and Rabun County.

Gainesville will play again Tuesday at Chattahoochee Golf Club in Gainesville.
