Cigarette tax hike under consideration

ATLANTA - There is a move underway in the state Legislature to increase the tax on a pack of cigarettes in Georgia by 68 cents.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that would amount to an 84 percent increase. Smokers and some people who sell tobacco products say that's just too much. But, health advocates want even more.
The current state tax on a pack of smokes is 37 cents.
