Hall County Coroner Marion Merck says Adams, 61, died when the ATV overturned near Lula, pinning him underneath it.
Cornelia Mayor Margaret Ballard said Adams, who lived in Lula, grew up in Cornelia and had been the city's municipal court judge for about 20 years "and will be missed."
Adams was also a member of the Board of Directors of Community Bank & Trust.
He began practicing law in Cornelia after graduating from Emory University School of Law and returning home to join his father's law practice, Adams, Ellard, and Frankum. His late father, Jack Adams, also served as a judge.
The funeral will be Monday at 2:00 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel in Baldwin.
