Winder arson trial on hold

WINDER - The attorney for a man accused of a church arson in Barrow County has raised questions about the fairness of the judge scheduled to hear the case.

Maurice Arnold was to go on trial in Winder Monday on charges of torching his father's church at the request of his father in a scheme to collect insurance money. But Maurice Arnold's attorney is alleging that Judge Currie Mingledorff is prejudiced toward the prosecution. The trial is on hold until another judge can settle that issue.

The Barrow County Court Clerk's Office confirmed Monday that the trial has been postponed indefinitely.
