Auburn takes out 22nd-ranked Lady Dogs

ATHENS -- Alli Smalley scored 22 points, including a tiebreaking three-point play, and Auburn beat No. 22 Georgia 63-58 on Thursday night.

Smalley, who had 16 points in the second half, matched her season high as Auburn snapped a two-game slide and stopped Georgia from clinching a first-round bye in the Southeastern Conference tournament.

Morgan Jennings and Blanche Alverson each had 10 points for Auburn (15-13, 8-7). Smalley added four steals and five assists.

Freshman Khaalidah Miller made six 3-pointers and finished with 20 points for Georgia (20-8, 10-5).

Smalley's three-point play gave the Tigers a 61-58 lead with 1:17 remaining. Jasmine James missed two 3-pointers for Georgia in the final 30 seconds, and Smalley added two free throws with 5 seconds left.
