ATLANTA - A Georgia lawmaker is proposing that the state track and report students and medical patients who are illegal immigrants or unable to prove their citizenship.

The bill would require the Board of Education and Department of Community Health to publish their findings on their websites by Jan. 1 of each year.

The Board of Education would be required to report the total amount of expenditures by school district for illegal immigrants and undocumented students in grades kindergarten through 12 and the number of such students in each district.

The Department of Community Health would be required to report information for any facility providing patient care. The agency would not be required to identify the patient
