Habersham Judicial Center to be built on old school site

CLARKESVIlLE - The Habersham County Commission has decided where it will build a new Judicial Center, and it will be at the originally proposed site in the northern end of the county.

"There was a unanimous vote to begin the judicial center, to actually construct it, on the old North Habersham School site," said Habersham County Manager Janeann Allison.

Allison said the vote came Monday night, and she said commissioners were in touch Tuesday morning with the project manager to move ahead with construction.

Allison had no projected finish date for the new judicial center, a project that has been the object of controversy in the county for several years.
