ATHENS - Retailer Orchard Brands says it will transfer its customer service call center to Pennsylvania in a move that will eliminate more than 400 jobs in Athens.

The move is part of a restructuring strategy by Orchard Brands, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in January.

The company sells apparel and home products through catalogs, the Internet and some retail stores. Workers at the call center take orders and handle customer service issues.

Orchard Brands is expected to close the Athens facility at the end of April. The work is being moved to facilities the company owns in northwestern Pennsylvania.
