"The new main office will be more of a branch prototype," said Regions Market President David Abee. "It will be a stand alone facility that will simply house our main office retail operations."
Abee said the ATM that currently sits at that location will eventually be relocated to the end of the new drive-thru window.
He said there has been some interest in the off-the-square location that Regions is vacating, which investors bought last year to lease for office space.
"The new ownership group will also be looking to somewhat renovate and modify the building to also bring it up to today's standards," said Abee.
He said the Regions staff looks forward to watching their old home's progress from their new branch across the street, which is set to open for business in mid-July.
A group of investors purchased the older building last year, and Abee said Regions is moving out to consolidate their downtown locations.
