Home values in Gainesville up

GAINESVILLE - Gainesville ranks number two on Moneywatch.com's list of "Biggest Winners" when it comes to gains in home values. <br /> <br /> According to Zillow.com's fourth quarter Real Estate Market Report, Gainesville home values rose 8.4 percent this year. <br /> <br /> That's second only to Ann Arbor, Michigan where home values rose 11.3 percent. <br /> <br /> And while the report notes the university in Ann Arbor as a driving force behind those gains, the writer could not pinpoint a reason for Gainesville's significant rise in home vaules... especially since Georgia has one of the highest foreclosure rates in the country. <br />
