UNDATED - It was one wreck after another across north Georgia Thursday morning as roads quickly iced-over about daybreak, catching many motorists off guard.

The Hall County Sheriff's Office and Jackson County authorities have provided details about the number of accidents they worked.

In Hall County alone, the sheriff's office responded to 67 weather related traffic accidents between 6:00 and 9:30 Thursday morning. There were injuries, all non-life threatening, in six of them.

Hall County Fire and EMS Chief David Kimbrell says EMTs answered 77 calls between 6:30 and 9:00 and that in four of them they had to free people who were trapped in the wreckage.

Meanwhile, eight of 27 accidents reported in Jackson County involved injuries.

Things got so bad in Hall County, that school buses were pulled off the road and parked until conditions improved and they could continue their routes and the county schools superintendent has apologized for the "weather situation" and promises a review of procedures used in such situations.
