Boys basketball: No. 2 Spartans whip Oconee County

WATKINSVILLE -- Class AAA No. 2 West Hall outscored Oconee County 34-10 in the second and third quarters en route to a 61-27 thumping of the Warriors Tuesday night in Region 8B-AAA action.

Jarquise Young had 21 points to lead the Spartans, who rebounded froma tough triple-overtime loss to Gainesville on Monday.

West Hall (19-4, 10-1 Region 8B-AAA) had 10 different players score. The Spartans led 20-10 after the first quarter but extended the lead 40-16 by halftime. They led 54-20 heading into the fourth quarter.

The Spartans will travel to No. 8 Monroe Area on Friday.
