Girls basketball: Dawson falls to No. 6 Fannin

BLUE RIDGE -- Class AA No. 6 Fannin County used a 20-10 fourth to pull away for a 58-46 Region 8A-AA win over Dawson County Tuesday night.

The Lady Rebels hit several key free throws down the stretch to preserve the win.

Dawson County (10-10, 1-6 in subregion) trailed 27-19 at halftime but outscored Fannin 17-11 in the third quarter to pull within 38-36.

Carly Gilreath poured in 14 points to lead the Lady Tigers. Natalie Parker added 11 and Allie Costley with 10 for Dawson County.
