Girls basketball: Lady Falcons get first 8-AAAA win

MT. AIRY -- Flowery Branch snapped a three-game losing streak and picked up their first Region 8-AAAA win Tuesday night with a 53-46 win over Habersham Central.

Tavia Sykes led the Branch with 16 points. Jacy Ramey had 15 and Cara Chilton had 11 for the Lady Falcons (6-15, 1-5 in region).

Flowery Branch next plays at Clarke Central on Friday.
