Gwinnett man arrested after picking up Arkansas girl

NORCROSS - A Georgia man has been arrested after he drove to Arkansas to pick up a 14-year-old girl he met online and brought her back to suburban Atlanta, according to authorites.

Gwinnett County police said Felipe Nunez-Martinez, 23, remains in the Gwinnett County jail on two counts of statutory rape, interference with custody and an immigration violation. Authorities said Nunez-Martinez drove from Norcross to the girl's home in Hope, Ark., and picked her up Dec. 22.

The girl called her mother on Christmas Eve from Norcross, according to police and said she was scared and wanted to come home. Police said Nunez-Martinez had sex with the teen.

Police said the teen told Nunez-Martinez she was 17.
