Former Barrow Co. commissioner, attorney dies

WINDER - A man who served Barrow County as both a county attorney and as a county commissioner died Monday.

The Athens Banner-Herald has reported the death of William Healan Jr., who died following a lengthy illness.

Healan served as the county's attorney from the early 1980s to the early 1990s and then served for one term as a county commissioner.

Funeral arrangements for Healan are pending and are being handled by Smith Memory Chapel in Winder.
