Girls basketball: West Hall falls to N. Forsyth

COAL MOUNTAIN -- North Forsyth grabbed the lead in the first quarter and then held on to beat West Hall 44-37 Tuesday night in girls basketball action.

North Forsyth led 14-9 after the first quarter and increased the lead to 26-17 by halftime. The Lady Raiders then pushed their lead to 36-24 heading into the fourth quarter.

West Hall held North Forsyth to just eight points in the final period but could not grab the lead.

Caroline Browns paced North Forsyth with 13 points. Lochlain Corliss added 11 for the Lady Raiders.

Kaelyn Gattis led West Hall with 10 points. LeNiesha Kearse had nine points and Maia Booker seven for the Lady Spartans.

West Hall (2-8) next will open its Region 8B-AAA subregion schedule Friday on the road against Oconee County.
