Qualifying dates set for special Gillsville city election

GILLSVILLE - City officials in Gillsville have set the qualifying period for a special city council election March 6.

The election for the Post 5 at-large seat was to have been held Nov. 8 but no one qualified to run.

Now, city officials will try again, this time on the same date as the presidential primaries and a referendum on the retail sale of alcoholic beverages on Sundays in Hall County.

Candidates will be allowed to qualify Jan. 9-Jan. 13.
