Habersham County crash victim identified

MT. AIRY - The victim of a fatal single-vehicle crash in Habersham County Friday afternoon has been identified.

Habersham County Coroner Kasey McEntire said Howard Lloyd Lawson, 56, of Demorest, died of injuries suffered when his Toyota Tundra pickup went out of control on Highway 365 near the Stephens County line around 4 p.m. Friday.

Funeral services for Lawson will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Welcome Home Baptist Church in Mt. Airy.

While authorities were clearing that accident, another wreck was reported elsewhere in the county.

Authorities say a two-vehicle wreck occurred around 4:30 p.m. Friday on Georgia 15/Highway 441 near Antioch Church Road. Two people were injured in that crash.

No other details were immediately available.
