Hamrick reelected to Gainesville City Council

GAINESVILLE - Incumbent Bob Hamrick will remain on the Gainesville City Council.

Hamrick received 57 percent of the vote in Tuesday's elections.

His opponent, Debra Harkrider, received 43 percent.

It was the only contested race in the city.

In addition to the city council election, voters also decided on Sunday alcohol sales. Sixty-nine percent of voters were in favor of package sales on Sunday, while 31 percent voted against the measure.
