Milon Christman, Jr., joined Milliken and Company, Pacolet Mill, in New Holland in east Gainesville in 1946 after his discharge from the Army. He also worked for Milliken in New York, Atlanta and LaGrange.
Christman, who was 91, was working for Milliken in LaGrange when he retired in 1985 at which time he returned to Gainesville.
The memorial service on Saturday will be held at 11:00 at Grace Episcopal Church.
