DAHLONEGA -- After suffering their first loss of the season last week, the North Georgia women's soccer team dropped three spots to No. 13 in the country in the latest edition of the NSCAA Division II Top 25 Poll.

The Lady Saints have now been ranked in five consecutive national polls dating back to September 20, when North Georgia debuted at No. 16 in the country.

The University of Bridgeport (Conn.) continues their stronghold of the top spot in the land, checking in at No. 1 with the only perfect record in the country at 12-0, while Abilene Christian (Texas), Grand Valley State (Mich.), California (Pa.) and Minnesota State-Mankato round out the top five respectively.

With North Georgia dropping three spots to No. 13, Central Missouri jumps up to No. 10, while Rollins (Fla.) and Seattle Pacific (Wash.) sit just in front of the Lady Saints at 11th and 12th. Armstrong Atlantic is the only other Peach Belt Conference program in the national rankings, as the Pirates leaped four spots to No. 18 at 10-2-1 on the season.

The only change in the top five spots in the Southeast Regional Poll come at No. 1 where North Georgia dropped out of a tie with Lenoir-Rhyne and are at No. 2, followed by Armstrong Atlantic, Columbus State, and Lander University.

Two more Peach Belt Conference games await the Lady Saints this week, playing host to Georgia Southwestern on Wednesday evening, before Lander University comes to town on Saturday afternoon in a battle that features two of the top five teams in the region.

North Georgia is 2-4 all time against Lander, including a 2-1 victory on the road last season that featured a goal from Kelsey Martin with just 23 seconds remaining in regulation. The Lady Saints are 7-0 all time against the Hurricanes and have never allowed a goal in the series history, outscoring GSW 41-0 along the way.

Wednesday evening's contest will serve as a Cancer Awareness Game with all the proceeds from the event going to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation. The department of athletics will sell pink t-shirts for $10.00 and provide free popcorn to everyone in attendance.
