ATLANTA - Forecasters say a cold front is expected to usher in much cooler temperatures across Georgia, bringing a dramatic change in the state's weather by mid-week, and possibly some stormy weather Tuesday.

The National Weather Service predicts highs in the 80s in many places Monday, including an 86 in Atlanta which would break the city's record high for the date, which is 84.

But by Wednesday highs are only expected to be in the 50s with lows Wednesday night in the 40s.

Before that, though, The Weather Channel's John Askins says north Georgia can expect rain, gusty winds and maybe some hail Tuesday.
