Call for immigration law-based boycott of state apparently falling on deaf ears

ATLANTA - A boycott of the state, called for by immigration advocates after Georgia passed a tough new immigration law earlier this year, is apparently not catching on.

That's according to a report in the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

The call went out after the bill passed calling for a boycott of the state similar to the one targeting Arizona after it passed a similar bill last year.

But the newspaper says it could find only one group that will not hold a planned meeting in Georgia because of the new law, the Atlanta-based U.S. Human Rights Network, which usually holds its annual conference in Atlanta. That meeting is now scheduled this year for Los Angeles.
Gov. Nathan Deal signed the law this summer.
