Thornton helped the Indians (5-1, 2-0 Region 8A-AAA) pile up 415 yards of total offense on the way to their fifth straight win. Stephens quarterback Dionte Mayfield connected with receiver Tomas Colbert for a touchdown pass for the Indians' other score.
The Stephens County defense also held Chestatee (3-3, 0-2) to just 120 yards of offense for the game.
Stephens County will play host to struggling White County (1-5, 0-2) next week, while Chestatee will try to snap a three-game streak on the road against Franklin County next week.
