BRASELTON - A movement is now underway to save the visitors center at the Mayfield Dairy in Braselton, which draws 130,000 visitors a year.

Last week, plans were announced to close the center at the end of this month, but Danielsville state Sen. Frank Ginn tells Georgia News Network he's doing his best to help get it reopened.

The dairy itself will remain open, but the company says the visitors center is costing too much.

The center has been a popular field trip destination for children, and Ginn says it stimulates the local economy.
