Work Tuesday is planned between mileposts 14 and 16 in the Oakwood Area and Wednesday between mileposts 20 and 22 in the Gainesville area.
State DOT spokeswoman Teri Pope says crews will be closing one northbound lane both days as they pour concrete footings to support new overhead signs.
Pope says work is planned each day between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and is part of a $2 million project to replace all road signs on I-985 in Gwinnett and Hall counties.
