Girls basketball: Lady Knights fall to No. 3 Walnut Grove

LOGANVILLE -- The Johnson girls basketball team saw it longest win streak in five years come to an end Saturday night in a 56-51 loss to Class AAA No. 3 Walnut Grove in a tough Region 8B-AAA contest.

The Lady Knights (13-8, 7-2 in subregion) had won five straight until Saturday's loss.

They got 17 points and four assists from Caitlyn Sloan in the loss, which was the smallest margin of victory for the Lady Warriors (21-0, 9-0) since a four-point win over North Oconee in December.

Emily Byers had 10 rebounds for Johnson, which plays host to Jefferson on Tuesday in a non-region game.
