The Elephants took their third straight Region 8B-AAA win Friday night with a 68-46 rout of rival Johnson at the Johnson gym.
A.J. Johnson paced Gainesville (13-6, 6-2 in subregion) with 14 points, tying a craeer-high. Nine different players scored for Gainesville. Quon Holcomb finished with 12 points and Ke'Odrick Sadler had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Elephants.
Johnson (9-10, 1-6) was led by Matt Hollis with 14 points. Cam Schofield added 11 for the Knights, who have lost three satraight and six of their last seven overall.
Gainesville next will play host to Class AAA fourth-ranked West Hall on Monday.
Johnson will travel to Walnut Grove on Saturday.
