Girls basketball: Lady Falcons fall to Apalachee

FLOWERY BRANCH -- Tavia Sykes scored 22 points to lead Flowery Branch but it wasn't enough as the Lady Falcons remained winless in Region 8A-AAAA after a 55-42 loss to Apalachee.

Cara Chilton added 11 points for the Branch (5-14, 0-5 in subregion). Apalachee improved to 10-7, 2-2 in the subregion with the win.

Flowery Branch plays host to Loganville Saturday at 4 p.m.
