Boys basketball: West Hall still perfect in 8B-AAA

SUGAR HILL -- Class AAA No. 4 West Hall used an 18-11 second quarter to pull away from upset-minded Lanier en route to a 68-46 win in Region 8B-AAA Tuesday night.

The Spartans (17-3, 8-0 in subregion) led just 13-7 after a sluggish first quarter but used their big run to take a 31-18 lead into halftime. They built the lead to 49-34 by ther end of the third quarter and then put the game out of reach with a 19-12 fourth quarter.

Shunquez Stephens led West Hall with 20 points. Dre Pou added 14 points and Jarquise Young had 10 for the Spartans.

West Hall will trvale to pseky Walnut Grove on Friday. The Spartans beat the Warriors last week but were pushed to the limit after blowing a 20-point first half lead.
