Girls basketball: Johnson wins fourth straight

OAKWOOD -- The Johnson girls basketball team won its fourth straight game Tuesday night with a dominating 65-41 win over Monroe Area in Region 8B-AAA action at the Johnson gym.

The Lady Knights (12-7, 6-1 in Region 8B-AAA) opened the game with a 15-8 first quarter and then blew the game open in the second quarter outscoring the Lady Hurricanes (1-14, 1-5) 21-11 in the period.

Caitlin Sloan had a big night for Johnson with 14 points, seven rebounds, and four steals. Ryleigh Shannon added 10 assists for the Lady Knights.

Shareka Rowland led MMonroe Area with 10 popints.

Johnson next will play host to gainesville on friday in a huge subregion contest.
