I am not surprised but it is very disturbing at how ANY mention of Jesus' name draws frowns, scowls and anger. This culture of being "anti-Christ" is growing at an alarming rate. Franklin Graham was correct when he said recently, "the spirit of 'anti-Christ' is everywhere."

You might have missed it, but Franklin Graham was banned from participation in a National Day of Prayer service because of his views on prayer. What got him removed from the list of participants was his comment stating how the culture and government will allow prayer in the name of God or a god but NOT in Jesus' Name.

What a double standard. It is "acceptable" to mention Buddha, Muhammad or Confucius BUT Don't Mention JESUS!

This secularization of society came into clear focus here in my own state of Georgia when during a minister's prayer at a government function, the Name of Jesus was never mentioned. It would seem that the culture's angst against Jesus is winning.

The culture of being "anti-Christ" can also be clearly seen in the memorial service for the victims of the Tucson tragedy held a few weeks ago. Unlike the memorial services held after the Oklahoma City bombing and 9/11, the Tucson service did not include an official prayer or mention of God.

David Patten, writing for Newsmax, reported that the "one religious dedication on the program came from a member of the Pascua Yaqui tribe, who delivered a peroration that among other things called out to the 'Father Sky' where we get our masculine energy and 'Mother Earth' where we get our feminine energy".

Wow! The spirit of being "anti-Christ" right on the national stage! The University of Arizona had failed to put God anywhere on the program.

Followers of Christ have been far too silent! We bear much of the responsiblity because we have not taken a firm stand on the TRUTH of Jesus, and we have been far too timid in speaking up for Jesus. Every Christ follower must be unashamed of Jesus and unwavering in "standing fast".

Personally, I refuse to pray at any gathering if I am discouraged or not allowed to pray in "Jesus' Name". Recently I was asked to offer a prayer for our new Governor, Nathan Deal; and I concluded that prayer, "in the strong name of JESUS." I refuse to do ANY LESS.

In an upcoming Sunday morning message, I will be outlining the history of rejecting Jesus; I am not surprised at the "anti-Jesus" bias, BUT I do refuse to be a part of it. Christian persecution will become worse in the coming years, but I plan to stand firm in Jesus
