Girls basketball: Lady Elephants run win streak to four

MONROE -- The Gainesville girls are starting to heat up after taking their fourth win Friday night, 47-26, over Monroe Area on the road.

It's their longest win streak of the season and has come at the right time as they are in the meat of their Region 8B-AAA schedule.

Mikalyn DeFoor led the Lady Elephants with 12 points. Rebecca Webster added nine for Gainesville (10-8, 5-1 in Region 8B-AAA).

The Lady Elephants will get another big test Tuesday when they travel to unbeaten and No. 3-ranked Walnut Grove. The Lady Warriors beat gainesville 45-36 two weeks ago in Gainesville.
