Girls basketball: No. 8 Chestatee cruises to easy win

GAINESVILLE -- The Chestatee girls basketball team won its fourth straight game and stayed unbeaten in Region 8A-AAA play with a 47-22 rout of Stephens County Saturday.

Peyton Robertson led Chestatee (13-2, 2-0 in subregion) with 25 points and seven rebounds. Rachel Kelly had nine points and four rebounds and Melissa Bailey added five rebounds for the Lady War Eagles.

Chestatee led 9-2 after the first quarter and 23-5 at halftime. They blew the game open in the third quarter.

The Class AAA eight-ranked Lady War Eagles will travel to Class AA Union County Monday.
