DAWSONVILLE - The Chestatee Library System (CLS), which serves Dawson and Lumpkin counties, has now added eBooks to its collection. The electronic books are available via Georgia Download Destination.

There are currently more than 25 titles with more to be added very soon, library officials say.

To access them, go to the Chestatee Library System's web site and click on the Download Destination icon on the right side of the screen. Once there you can browse available titles, learn more about eBooks and compatible eReaders

These eBooks are compatible with Sony Readers, Barnes and Noble Nook, Kobo eReader, Literati Reader and Pandigital Novel. There is also a free app for iPhone, iPad, and Android. For more information on ebooks and compatible devices, go to http://www.overdrive.com/resources/drc/compatibleebookdevices.aspx

Please note that if you have a Kindle, you will not be able to read downloadable books from Georgia Download Destination. The Kindle uses proprietary software that is not available to any other eBook vendors.
