Hall County officials say the road was shut down near the Atlanta Highway intersection and that there were at least 10 vehicles that were stranded and could not move because of the ice.
In addition, a couple of intersections were closed when tractor-trailers got stuck at Queen City Parkway and Aviation Boulevard and Phil Niekro Boulevard and Thurman Tanner Road. About the same time, a number of vehicles were stranded on Candler Highway between I-985 and Fulenwider Road.
