Forecaster Jessica Fieux says light freezing rain is reported at locations including Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, where many flights have been canceled because of a storm that dumped up to 7 inches of snow in the metro area.
Fieux says the rain is not expected to add much to the precipitation total, but snow and ice are likely to stay on the ground for several days.
She says temperatures are expected to reach the mid-30s in north Georgia on Tuesday and the low 30s Wednesday and Thursday before getting into the 40s on Friday.
