Gov. Sonny Perdue has announced that net revenue collections for the month of December totaled more than $1.5 billion, compared to more than $1.4 billion for December 2009 an increase of more than $152 million, or 10.9 percent.
State revenues increased 8.1 percent from fiscal year 2010 to fiscal year 2011. March's slight increase marked the first uptick in state revenues in 16 months, but revenues declined in April and May before picking up again in June.
While state property taxes were down 22.5 percent, income and sales taxes were both up 7.7 percent and corporate taxes were up nearly 47 percent. Motor fuel taxes were up 28.1 percent.
