Fire heavily damages Hall Co. home

GAINESVILLE - Fire heavily damaged a house on Cherokee Trail Sunday afternoon, according to Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell.

Kimbrell says the call came in about 2:40 to the 4300 block of Cherokee Trial and that the 2,000-square-foot house was about 60 percent involved in flames when the first units arrived.

The caller who reported the fire said it started in the kitchen.

Kimbrell said everyone who was at home at the time was able to get out safely.
