The Eagles won their third straight contest on Friday, this time blasting Oglethorpe County 39-12 in Lexington.
C.J. Allen led the way for East Jackson (3-2, 2-0 Region 8S-AA) with two touchdowns on the night, while four other Eagles also reached the end zone.
"The kids are finally starting to believe in each other, and we're rolling a little," East Jackson coach Frank Caputo said. "The kids were a little unsure of themselves early in the season, but they're getting comfortable now."
Jason Shaklee scored on an 81-yard touchdown run for the Eagles, while Brion Youngs tossed a 40-yard scoring pass. Chaz Malcolm also scored on a touchdown run, while Nick Fulks got a score for the defense, scooping a fumble and returning it to start the second half.
East Jackson will hope to ride its momentum into next week's contest with Hart County at home.
"We're banged up a little bit right now," Caputo said. "We need to get healed up so we can go out and compete a bit, because Hart County's a good team."
