CLEVELAND - Construction is underway to rebuild the Zaxby's restaurant in Cleveland that was destroyed by fire in March.

The owners, Greg and T.J. McLeroy, said Thursday that they plan to reopen the restaurant later this fall.

Investigators said the fire started in an exhaust fan in a bathroom.

Cleveland Fire Chief Ricky Pruitt said at the time that a night manager smelled smoke and called 911 about midnight. By the time the first units arrived, heavy smoke was pouring from the roof and flames erupted, consuming the structure.

The restaurant was ruled a total loss.
