Remembering John Calvin's 500th Birthday

History shows America is a nation founded on Christian principles and beliefs, and among those who laid the foundation for Western Civilization and American democracy is one John Calvin. This year marks the 500th anniversary of Calvin's birth, and if anybody has mentioned that good, but sometimes controversial man, I have missed it. If nothing else, it seems to me we might take a look at his 'middle class virtues' which became the Protestant Christian foundation on which America was built. <br /> <br /> These Middle Class Virtues were: Reverence, Chastity, Sobriety, Frugality, Industry and Honesty. Let's look at them one at a time. <br /> REVERENCE
