KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- A judge has dismissed a misdemeanor resisting arrest charge against Tennessee freshman wide receiver Da'Rick Rogers, who was among those arrested after a massive offseason bar brawl.

Prosecutors also agreed Tuesday to dismiss a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct if the Calhoun, Ga., native performs 16 hours of community service and pays court costs. A hearing on the charge has been moved to Oct. 27.

Defense attorney Don Bosch says by performing the community service, Rogers isn't admitting guilt. Instead, he wants to prevent teammates who witnessed his July 9 arrest from having to testify at a hearing.

Volunteers coach Derek Dooley did not suspend Rogers following the incident. One other team member was dismissed and two were suspended.
