GAINESVILLE - Repairs are about to begin to one entrance to the Hall County parking deck, limiting access to the deck for about five days.

Hall County spokeswoman Nikki Young says the work on the Spring Street entrance is to begin Friday.

A patch will be repaired at the Spring Street entrance, and the long weekend will maximize cure time for the new concrete, according to Hall County Building Maintenance Supervisor Brett Jockell.

Hall County's administrative offices and courts will be closed Monday for the Labor Day holiday, and Tuesday for an employee furlough day, so there will be less use of the parking deck during this time. The cost of the repair will be approximately $780, coming from budgeted funds for building maintenance, and all labor will be performed by county staff and inmates, according to county officials.

The Spring Street access to the deck will be closed from 7 a.m. Friday until 8 a.m. Wednesday, but the Broad Street entrance will remain open.
