These funds, according to Supt. Will Schofield, are specifically designated for classroom use. Teachers may request funding through their principals.
The board also voted to allocate $88,000 of Federal Jobs funding to continue paying for the cost of students taken Advanced Placement (AP) exams.
"We have received significant feedback from teachers, students and parents that many students would be unable to sit for these exams," Schofield said. "It is our belief that students who have made the commitment to participate in these rigorous courses should be able to take the exams which grant college credit."
The state has cut the majority of funding that was previously available to pay this cost.
