COLBERT - An elderly northeast Georgia man was in intensive care after being attacked by an aggressive goat for about an hour.

88-year-old Vestal Davis was hospitalized with serious injuries after the Sunday attack.

A Madison County Sheriff's Office report says Davis told a deputy that a neighbor's goat charged him when he went outside to his shop. Davis said that every time he moved to get up, the goat would attack him again.

Davis told the deputy the attack continued for about an hour until the goat walked into the shop and he could get up and call 911.

The goat's owner told the deputy the goat escaped from its pen, but he didn't know about the attack.

Sheriff Kip Thomas says investigators plan to charge the owner with allowing livestock to roam free.
